Telerik Cryptographic Weakness

The RecFind 6 Web Client and Mini-API includes a third party product from Telerik to deliver a number of features, such as spell checking and file uploading.

Telerik have advised that there is a cryptographic weakness in one of their components.

Knowledgeone Corporation advises all customers with the RecFind 6 Web Client and Mini-API product installed to load a patch to address this weakness.

To apply the patch:

  1. Download the relevant patch file depending on the version of the web client you currently have installed.

For customers using v2.6.1 to v2.9, please download: Telerik.Web.UI.dll_2014.zip.

For customers using v2.6, please download Telerik.Web.UI.dll_2013.zip

For all earlier versions, please contact Knowledgeone Corporation Support.

  2. Extract the downloaded file to your web client's bin folder (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Knowledgeone Corporation\RecFind 6\Web Client and Mini-API\bin) located on your IIS web server

  3. Restart the Knowledgeone Apps application pool via IIS, or run the IISRESET command to restart IIS. This will log off any users logged in to the web client.

There is no action required on individual workstations.
