Enterprise Content Management

Over the last 25 years a host of independent applications like imaging and workflow and records and document management have merged into to 21st century applications that attempt to provide a unified solution to managing and utilizing all content within an enterprise. Today’s content includes vast amounts of structured and unstructured information and comes in both physical and digital form. Enterprise Content Management (ECM) has become the name for a collection of enabling technologies designed to allow an organization to capture, classify, organize and utilize information to achieve optimum business outcomes.

The AIIM definition of ECM has become the industry standard
“Enterprise Content Management is the technologies used to capture, manage, store, preserve, and deliver content and documents related to organizational processes. ECM tools and strategies allow the management of an organization's unstructured information, wherever that information exists. Content must be managed so that it is used to achieve business goals. Central to this strategy are the tools and technologies of ECM, which manage the complete lifecycle of content, birth to death".

It took Knowledgeone Corporation more than 5 years to design and build our first Enterprise Content Management and Knowledge Management solution. The Knowledgeone product range and suite was released in September 2005 and we are currently working on version 1.7 for general release in 2009.
